How We Use This Information To Serve You

When you first register with the American Publishers site, we ask for your name, school code, grade, teacher, e-mail address and a password. Once you supply this information, you will be able to personalize an online magazine and/or nut and chocolate store, launch emails, and share on social media to invite friends and family to shop online to support a school or organization. You will also be able to monitor your progress throughout the sale. For people shopping on a participant’s personalized store, personal information provided will be used only for the fulfillment of items purchased. All information sent via e-mail will come directly from American Publishers or the school / organization you are supporting. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone else. All information on current and former members is retained in our database for customer service purposes.

Personally Identifiable Information

American Publishers does not share your personally identifiable information with third parties for promotional or other purposes unrelated to products you order.

If you order a product, your name, postal address and e-mail address may be shared with the company that provides fulfillment services for that product and with the company that produces or creates the product that you ordered, such as a magazine publisher. This kind of information is shared only to process your order and to provide you with better customer service. But, as noted above, we suggest that you read these companies’ privacy policies to see how they use and protect, and whether they share your information.

Credit/debit card information

Credit/debit card information is never shared with outside parties for promotional or other purposes unrelated to products you order. As explained above, when you order a product online, we will ask for your name, mailing address, your phone number and credit/debit card information. This information will be used only to process your order and send you the product you requested. We will not share credit/debit card information with anyone else (unless an outside company is part of the process of fulfilling your order). As an extra precaution, American Publishers uses SSL encryption technology for a secure online ordering environment.

Friend/family members' information

If you send a gift for a friend or family member, their information will never be sold, shared or rented. We will use the information only to process your order and send the product to your gift recipient. The recipient’s information will only be retained in our database for accounting and current or future customer service purposes.

Children's information

We believe that protecting the privacy of children is crucial. While our site may be visited by children, we do not collect any information that may be personally identifiable to a child under the age of 13 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian. Accordingly, we ask for contact information for parents or guardians rather than children when children are under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to us without parental consent, we will promptly delete such information. Any videos and images of children are visible only to friends and family whose email addresses you provide, who see your social media postings, or who enter a unique code that you provide to them.
